FDA “Open Studio” Community Dance Nights

Share

Freestyle Dance Academy holds Open Studio community nights once a month. Open Studio dates will be announced by FDA. Please “Like” and follow the FDA Facebook page at facebook.com/FreestyleDanceAcademyPA for announcements about the schedule, or e-mail freestyledanceacademypa@gmail.com to enquire about the next date.

These nights will follow an “open gym” type of format. Both studios will be open for dancers to freely practice and dance/socialize with one another. The FDA family asks that you make some sort of donation to help put the lights on. All are welcome to dance all night. The nights will run from 7pm-10pm, or 7pm-11pm, depending upon the evening. A bottle of water is available when you enter. Re-entry not permitted. Friends are welcome to hang out. Individuals present at FDA Open Studio nights are not required to dance, but are expected to respect the dancers.

A night for dancers to be among those who share the same passion…

 Rules

Dancers will provide their own shoes for dancing. (Ballerinas and tappers are expected to keep track of shoes. FDA is not responsible for lost property.)

Dancers are permitted in the two dance studios, the bathrooms and the lobby ONLY. (Dancers in the lobby are NOT permitted behind the reception desk at ANY TIME.) Any persons found else where will be asked to leave promptly.

The object of the night is to give dancers a place to dance and interact with others. Positive attitudes only. There will be no battles or one on one dance contests. Studios will have open cyphers/dance space where all dancers, regardless of age/gender/skill level, are permitted to express themselves.

The audio system will be shared among dancers. If a compromise can not be reached among the group, the Management of FDA will determine a schedule.

Dancers are not permitted to loiter outside the studio.

Any dancers who are unable to drive must be picked up promptly at the listed end time. Any dancer picked up 15 minutes or later after the posted time will pay a late care fee for the required presence of the FDA staff until all dancers have left the grounds.

FDA asks that all dancers treat Freestyle Dance Academy as if it is their parents’ house. Throw all trash in the trash cans, do not spill water, respect the furniture, etc.

Food is permitted in the lobby only.

Any illegal behavior, or behavior deemed inappropriate by the FDA Management, will result in the end of the Community night. Not only will the offenders be asked to leave permanently, but Freestyle Dance Academy will close for the evening at that time. (Not only do you get kicked out, but you ruin the evening for everyone. Don’t be that person…) Illegal or inappropriate behavior includes, but is not limited to: drugs, alcohol, fighting, inappropriate physical conduct, disrespectful language, etc.

Freestyle Dance Academy has the right to deny entrance to any individuals who appear to be under the influence, engaging in unacceptable behavior, etc.

OPEN BOTTLES OR CANS ARE NOT PERMITTED UNLESS EXCEPTIONS ARE MADE BY THE STUDIO DIRECTOR. FDA STAFF HAVE THE RIGHT TO SEARCH BAGS UPON ENTRY.

Upon entering Freestyle Dance Academy for Open Studio nights, and/or participating in FDA Open Studio nights, dancers/spectators give consent that any injury, etc. is personal responsibility; and Freestyle Dance Academy LLC, and its affiliates are not liable, as spelled out in the FDA Liability Release Waiver. Waivers are available upon request for any dancer/spectator to read at any time.
