On July 26th, Freestyle Dance Academy had its first official opening to the public. We have been open all summer teaching dance to the kids of Camp America Day Camp, which is adjacent to us on the edge of Bucks and Montgomery County. Only campers and their families had the opportunity to see our facility in Chalfont, PA, up until now.
Ian, our “groove guru”, had everyone dancing and sweating like crazy all evening long. A couple of the girls spent the entire night in the studio dancing contemporary, lyrical and ballet. Some of our little dancers even decided to join in the routine! Alexis, one of our jazz and tap teachers, along with Colleen, threw on her tap shoes and they put on an impromptu, acapella show to the delight of the audience. Later in the evening, Long (our breakdancing instructor) and a few of his bboy friends gave the crowd quite a show as they pulled out some of their tricks. I even had the chance to slip away from talking to people in order to teach a bit of popping and boogaloo myself to some of the guests!
It was a wonderful first night of fun as guests had the opportunity to meet some of the Freestyle Dance Academy staff, enjoy some refreshments and do some dancing in the FDA studios. Marc and Amy of Amazing Productions were here the open house taking pictures as well as providing everyone a lot of entertainment with their green screen photo favors. Thank you Marc and Amy! The open house was a hit, and everyone at Freestyle Dance Academy had a blast. I cannot wait for the fall session to begin to see where we go from here.
Thank you all who came out, despite the rain, and all those from the FDA family who spent the evening at the studio as well. Check out more of the photos from the open house below and see if you are in any of them!
