Happy Holidays and a Wonderful New Year from Freestyle Dance Academy!

Freestyle Dance Academy would like to extend a ‘Happy Holidays’ to all of the dancers, families & FDA friends in Bucks County, PA, and beyond. No matter what holiday you are celebrating, we hope it is full of joy & love, along with a safe & happy New Year.

The 2016 dance year at Freestyle Dance Academy was filled with many outstanding events, from performances for the Philadelphia 76ers & Philadelphia Union, to the launch of the FDA Performance Company. The annual Freestyle Dance Academy Showcase was a huge success, and the dance studio is currently celebrating its 5th dance season as well.

The biggest highlight of 2016, for the dance studio itself, was being recognized as the 2016 Best Dance Studio for Bucks County, PA, by the Doylestown Intelligencer. The Warrington, Chalfont, Doylestown & Lansdale communities spoke up, and helped vote the dance studio number one for the area, and recognize the dance classes & education that the dancers at Freestyle Dance Academy receive on a weekly basis.

The cast members at Freestyle Dance Academy also had a lot of dance highlights this season. Studio director, Tony Azzaro, was selected to take part in Philadelphia’s “Dancing for Our Future Stars,” an event to benefit the schools of Philadelphia. His partner, KYW‘s Kristen Johanson, and him received 2nd place in the competition, along with raising thousands of dollars for the schools. Ms. Colleen had another successful year with the Project Moshen Dance Company, and the group was selected to participate in the prestigious APAP conference in New York. Mr. Andrew placed in the Top 16 of Philadelphia’s annual breaking competition, Rhythmic Damage, and Mrs. Alexis performed in “I.V.U.” with Sanbrooka Productions. Ms. Ali received her state therapist license to practice, and Ms. Jasmine was selected to perform in Philadelphia’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

The Freestyle Dance Academy Company made its debut in 2016, and was all over the Philadelphia region for various performances. Besides the Sixers & the Union performances, the FDA Company danced at Peddler’s Village, Philadelphia Teen Fashion Week, CB Cares Pumpkinfest 2016, Temple University, the ITM Fashion Festival, Artistry Unfolded and more. Video projects for the dance studio included an adoption project with the AWA of New Jersey, and Freestyle Dance Academy’s own Cell Block Tango dance video.

It was an eventful year at Freestyle Dance Academy, and we look forward to an incredible 2017 dance year, as we finish celebrating our 5th dance season with the 2017 Freestyle Dance Academy Dancer Showcase in May 2017.
