Freestyle Dance Academy “Senior Spotlight”
Emily Chambers ~ Pennridge High School Class of 2015
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation I will be attending DeSales University as a biology major. I then plan to attend a graduate school to become a Physician Assistant.
Do you have any plans that involve dance?
I will be trying out for the dance team at DSU, and attending as many adult dance classes at FDA that I can!
What is your best Freestyle Dance Academy memory?
My best FDA memory was the first time I attended Ms. Ali’s hip-hop class. I learned how to “diva walk” for the first time and that’s when I knew I found the perfect dance studio.
What will you miss most about FDA?
Everything. The teachers are amazing, I made great friends, the dances that we learn are always challenging but fun, and the atmosphere is perfect. You can have had the worst possible day ever, and then walk into the dance studio and someone will make you smile or laugh.
How long have you been dancing with FDA?
This has been my first year at Freestyle Dance Academy. I started dance classes here in October. I have not been here long, but I have learned so much and made lots of memories.
Besides dance, what are some of your interests and hobbies?
I enjoy playing the piano, being involved in sporting events at my school, volunteering at Silverdale Fire Company, going on mission trips to Kentucky, and spending time with my friends and family!
Favorite Celebrity or Figure:
Favorite Music? (Artist, Style, etc.)
Country, pop, alternative, spanish, basically anything that has a good beat to it. We can’t forget Beyonce!
A Personal Note from Emily:
I want to thank everyone who has made my senior year so special. I have learned so much about dancing and myself from Ms. Ali, Ms. Colleen and Mr. Tony. I have been given many wonderful opportunities to help start my career through Freestyle Dance Academy, such as being a part of the Dancers Exceeding Expectations program, and becoming a model for L’levate Dancewear. Most importantly I have learned a lot more about myself and who I am as a dancer through FDA. The cast is always willing to help and only want to see you succeed as a dancer. Looking back, from my first day attending class until now, I can clearly see the difference in my dancing, and I cannot thank FDA enough for providing me with an amazing dance experience.
