Ms. Ali – Hip-Hop
Alison Potye is a diverse and technical dancer. She began her dance career at the age of two, training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip-hop, and jazz funk. Alison considers her versatility to be her best asset. She has danced competitively for over ten years and won various awards.
Aside from competition, Alison has also had the opportunity to perform at a Philadelphia 76ers pre-game show. Alison uses her diverse experience to teach dance at various levels. Recently, she has received a coveted “Top Teacher” award at a competition for her choreography. She has also been an administrative assistant and instructor at Debra Sparks Dance Works in Newtown, PA for many years.
In addition to teaching, Alison also coaches the Council Rock High School North’s dance team. The team has performed at Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, and Trenton Thunder games under her instruction. They have also participated in various holiday parades, and put on a benefit performance show to help the local town movie theater.
Alison is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with her B.A. in Psychological and Social Sciences. She also possesses a Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from La Salle University.
With her versatility, experience, passion, and dedication, Alison has much she can teach to her students, both on and off the floor, giving her the ability to connect with each of her students. You can also catch Ms. Ali teaching Beginner Adult Hip-Hop at Freestyle Dance Academy.
