We at Freestyle Dance Academy are blessed to have an incredible relationship with our Sixers friends down in South Philly. FDA blew the roof off the Wells Fargo Center during a dance performance for the Philadelphia 76ers, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Not only was it Super Bowl weekend, but Freestyle had the opportunity to be one of the first non-Sixers groups to rock the court coming out of a global pandemic. The FDA Company dancers lit up the floor, as they got the crowd excited for an MVP performance by Joel Embiid and a Sixers win!
The FDA Sr. & Jr. Company performers (some as young as eleven years old!) started off the routine to with the Black Eyed Peas, as they swarmed the court in numbers and pumped up the audience. Next, the dancers showed off their musicality and swagger to hip-hop icon Missy Elliott. After watching the dancers rock the floor, the crowd were treated to some tricks by Freestyle Dance Academy bboys Ethan & Cooper, who showed off some sensational floor work, and wow’ed spectators with some gravity-defying flips. The Sr. Company grabbed attention with a show stopping routine to Britney Spears, and the group finished by causing a buzz, with entertaining & energetic choreography to Usher.
Freestyle Dance Academy would like to thank all of the dancers & parents for their commitment, hard work, focus & energy throughout the rehearsal period and performance. The dance studio would also like to acknowledge all of the dance teachers of Freestyle Dance Academy who gave their extra time to help prepare all of the kids for the Sixers show. A special thank you goes out to the Philadelphia 76ers events team for having Freestyle Dance Academy out to perform once again!
